New mac Pro FCP interface speed

Can anyone here with the latest Mac Pro (R2D2 edition) comment on the speed of the FCP X interface speed and responsiveness compared with running on older Macs?
I am using a Mac Pro 1,1, which of course is ancient. I've been looking at some of the benchmarks for rendering etc, which are all very interesting. But the one thing that really drives me up the wall with FCP X is time lag from clicking on clips, updating the information windows, scrolling through clips in Events etc.
Aside from the rendering is the FCP X interface now silky smooth on the newer Macs or is there still some sluggishness/lag, especially with a lot of clips involved?

I went from a Mac Pro 3.1 (2008 8-core) to the latest iMac with the fastest processor and 24gb of RAM. I even screwed up and got the 2gb video card, not the 4gb. So, my original was faster than yours, and my iMac is not as fast as a new MacPro - but the difference is incredible. The experience is WAY better. And I'm not talking rendering - I'm retired, so whether something took 10 min. or 15 min. to render was irrelevant to me
I also set up a simple 2disk Thunderbolt raid 0, so as to not have storage bottlenecks, so that's also an important part of the equation.
Every so often, if I'm doing something fairly long and/or complex, things get a bit sluggish, but just restarting FCPX gets things back to normal.

How did you get FCPX to run on a MacPro 1,1? Unless you're talking about FCPX 10.0.9 on Lion?
I switched from my MacPro 2,1 with ATi5770 to a 2011 iMac as a temporary solution while I raise funds for a new machine and it's still way better than the old cheese grater.
The thing to do is go into an Apple store if there's one near you and have a play. I can't tell the difference between the top level iMac and the MacPro in terms of interface responsiveness when I played with them both side by side.

This is not an easy question to answer.
I had a maxed out 12c for three weeks that was borrowed from work. With a Pegasus 2 raid and Red epic (non optimized) footage I could cut half hour long multi cam like I was cutting 720p prores. When I added certain effects to the Red files, it became a different story, r3d files and many effects at this point aren't realtime in FCPX. They work, but you really need to render them, and depending on what effect you use, it can take a while. In Resolve 10, the r3d files and the denoiser was rendering at near realtime playback. Wow.
Now, on a doc with 25 minute reels consisting of 7D h.264, prores, clips 'borrowed' from youtube, and other mixed frame rates, felt really clunky as it did on my 2010 Mac pro with a 5770. One thing to mention is this is a project that has been updated from every version of FCPX since 10.0.2 which may have something to do with it. It still worked much better than the 2010 MP and my rMBP 2012.
The jist of this blathering is that I think FCP X's performance is based on a lot of factors as unlike PP and Avid that have performance settings that are 'hard set' in the prefs. FCP X has two settings "Perfection at all costs!" and "Eh, do your best with the mac you have to work with."
I gotta say, the 12c is pretty incredible, and rendering is a fraction of the time.

I've got the late 2013 tube, 8 core, 32 GB RAM, 16TB P2 RAID. Loving it, would never want to use anything else.
