Hi,

Not sure if many of you have see INDIAN wedding's video's, either they are super lavish KING size in day time or sometime late night...when every thing is usually dark and shot on ambient light at the venue..

so what are the best effects whcih one can think of which are currently avaiable in market ?

Never use an effect "just because" or "to be cool". That will only degrade your video and make it look cheap.

What "purpose" does that effect have? What is it contributing to telling the story?

If you can't clearly and easily answer those questions, with detail, don't use an effect.

So, what are you trying to convey with an effect, and one what specific scene/shot?

every day I discover something new on the internet - today: a vimeo.chanel dedicated to Indian Wedding videos... wow :)
vimeo.com/groups/20234
impressive ...

Excellent photography, tons of shallow focus (well, every wedding video nowadays has sf), lots of slowmo and very, I mean very saturated colors, even in mainly bright/white sceneries (is this a sort-of tradition, these... no better for it, 'tents'? sorry for my complete ignorance of your culture!) ...

in short: lots of 'in-camera effects' (shallow focus, slowmo, excessive use of gliders/jibes) + excellent grading ...

my 5€ cents ...
