reminds me of CROSS PROCESSING ...

a free plugin here
www.fcp.co/forum/colour-correction/10904...process-look-updated

and there're several commercial plug-ins offering this cross-process-look... just google for it.

and for sure, grading-master Denver Riddle offers here in a free tutorial (around min8:00 it's about cross processing) www.colorgradingcentral.com/archives/fcp...torial-popular-looks

(just to feed my personal curiosity: What language is spoken in this vid? ...)

To me it just looks like that generic Instagram-like look: a somewhat vintage color scheme with purplish blacks. There are several looks plugins that will give this, but I think most people would ask "why is the video so purple?"

FCPX built-in effects may work. In Effects > Looks:
Heat Wave, Indie Red, Memory, Old World, Teal & Orange.

They can be great starting places to then go into the Color Board and correct on top of that.

Inside the Color Board, look at some of those presets:
Artificial Light, Dew, Dry, Sewer, Spring Sun.

Again, just as starting places, then correct on top of that.

And if you're going to work with a group of clips together, do one of two things. Place them all in a Compound Clip, and grade the CC. Or apply an Adjustment Layer ( free here ) above everything, the duration of the clips, and apply the color grading to that.

Almost every available "looks" plugin has an effect or 2 similar to this. It's usually called a Retro or Vintage or 70s look, and they can of course be tweaked manually on exposure, saturation, etc.

Here's one example - only $39
www.motionvfx.com/mplugs-2.html

Their mLooks2 product is also worth a look.

Or you could just use the color board and experiment with higher or lower contrast and skewing the shadows more purple, the mids warmer, and the highs greener, or something like that. I'm not saying to do that necessarily, but just to experiment with different colors on the exposure ranges.
