Horizontal Flames like from a rocket

Hello all...still learning here....I want to attach horizontal flames like to a rocket engine...
How would I go about this in FCPX or is this something only accomplished in After Effects or Motion 5
btw I don't have Motion 5.

I know you don't have Motion yet, but there is a lesson from Ripple Training - www.rippletraining.com/categories/apple-...icles-in-motion.html , which shows exactly how to achieve that effect.

I would suggest investing in Motion 5, and some good training - it will amaze you what effects you can then do yourself!

I just bought Motion5 are there any good tutorials...training is on the list but will
be awhile?

It is a simple Match Move in Motion 5. When doing tutorials, that's what you're looking to learn.
