Split 2 hour file?

Split 2 hour file? was created by tinpusher
I had some old family 8mm tapes converted to mp4. They are now single 2 hour long video files. I would like to split the file into individual clips without losing any quality that my come from re-encoding. Can FCPX do this or would you recommend a better program for this job.
Thanks
Doug

Hi Doug,
MPEG Streamclip (free) is your friend: www.squared5.com
Open the long file, mark In and Out for a fragment and choose Save As... to save the fragment as a standalone clip without any re-encoding.
