I am sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm very much a newby at much of this. Here is what I need to find.

I am looking for a plugin or whatever I might need in order to create a video clip that will let me take a very simple childs drawing and make it look like it is being drawn on screen. I know we have purchased pre made videos in the past that had this look. However this will need to be custom for our needs. It could be by stroke, or just a quick overall drawing with a sketched look. It will just need to look like its being "drawn" before their eyes. It is for use in a few video backgrounds while a song is being played live during our church service.

I appreciate any help you can give me!
Thanks!!!!!

There are no stupid questions :)

To my knowledge there is no specific plugin that does this inside FCP X. With Ripple Training's Callouts you can draw animated lines but I think this will not be enough for the effect you wish to achieve. In Motion 5 however this is very easy to do using paint strokes and the write-on behavior. So if you have Motion 5 I will be happy to guide you through this.

This may be helpful, from Ripple Training. Note that you will likely need to do what you want with the app, Motion which is a separate companion app purchase from the Mac App Store, $50 US.

I have Motion that I purchased when I purchased FCPX. I do not have much working knowledge with it yet. I'm a quick learner though!!!

Get the training Bobbyco recommended. Best there is for Motion.
