iTunes Match (256kbps) music in FCPX - Does it work? was created by Schwyhart
I've recently started using iTunes Match, so all my music is a higher quality. I started a new FCPX project and need to use a song, so I dragged it to the timeline, but there is no audio. The waveforms are there, but I can't hear anything when I play the timeline, or scrub the timeline.
Can FCPX not handle 256kbps audio files?

Okay, so I just let it sit in the timeline for a while and it started to work. I didn't see that it was transcoding or anything, so I'm not sure why it started to magically work.
I looked at the metadata and it's still the same format/settings. It's like FCPX just needed time to read it.

The inspector always shows the original file format. Check at the bottom of the inspector to see if it's been optimized.

All I see is "Available Media Representations" and it says, "Original" with a green dot by it.
So, I assume it didn't transcode anything.
