Morph Effect Transition for FCPX?

Hi there,

I was wondering if there is any morph effect transition for FCPX, I've only found options for the older versions.
I'd like to use it to disguise some cuts in an interview.

Thank you!
Pietro

I for one agree this would be a great transition for FCPX. I would think CHV could make the Motion 5 a transition via a Motion Template, or they CHV could make a full featured a FXPlug version for FCPX.

I would send them a note and suggest they do that. I would defiantly buy it if it was FCPX native as I need to do the same thing quite often.

This is something that Avid Media Composer has had for many years. I believe the effect is called "FluidMorph" (under the "IllusionFX" category) and it comes with the standard Media Composer install. It's not a plugin that you have to buy separately, and that's great, considering how well this transition works.

Avid is not the best NLE for compositing and VFX for many reasons... but sometimes you find great effects inside Avid that surprisingly other NLEs don't have (unless you pay for a third party plugin). For example, the "AniMatte" effect, compared to other "4-point" or "8-point" masks out there is really powerful. Or the ability to track things inside MC is something that you can't do in FCPX (without TrackX or SliceX) and that Premiere just added recently.

Anyway, I agree that it would be great to have a Morph Effect transition built into FCPX, or at least, an affordable third party plugin.

When you talk about something being built-in, the question for the app developer becomes, how many of their customers actually use it? In other words, "is there enough demand" to make it worth the time and expense of programing it in?
