Queue to render and then share

Queue to render and then share was created by Toivonen
Hi
I have several projects that I want to render while I'm away. I'd like to share after rendering automatically, but it seems that it's not possible. When I select several project to render, they will queue just fine. When I add same projects to share, sharing starts immediately.
I'd like FCP to render all the projects first, then share them in same order one by one. This I'd like to happen automatically, so that files are rendered and shared when I get back to computer.
I want to do this automatically because all the projects render and sharing will take ap. 24-36 hours. Project will be shared as file on HD, no upload.
Is there any way to do render all first and then sharing?
Regards,
Tomi

Can't sleep? Try this: fcpxpert.net ;-)

No need to render before sharing, so why not just share them first, and render them in X as needed? Also, Rendering and sharing are separate things, so X can do both at the same time. The behavior you illustrated is normal...

Thanks, plysat.
In 10.0.9 I tried to share only. Rendering was done while sharing, but render data was not saved. After sharing I wanted to do a small change and found out that when I re-share, whole project had to be re-rendered again (not only modified part).
Has this changed in 10.1.1?

No, I think it's the same... But you can render and share at the same time. If you render in the timeline, your render data should be preserved except for the bit you change, unless the entire cut is covered with an adjustment layer or something. If that's the case, chop it into smaller sections before rendering so the whole thing won;t need rendering again maybe?

OK.
Usually changes are only a few seconds long. In some cases it might be only background sound that needs to be adjusted and it does not require re-rendering at all.
I have now a job running, but I will test render and sharing same time in a few days.
Thanks, plysat!

Seriously? Wow that is long time. Never heard of any project taking that long. What is the length of these projects? What kind of machine do you have?
Also unless you have some special circumstance rendering really isn't needed at all. Check out the workflow survey here for some others experiences:
