For some odd reason I can not get the Decrease Clip Height shortcut to work (CMD, shift, Minus). Has anyone else seen this? Also is there a way to shrink just clips of a certain role?

Were you trying to get it to work in the timeline? If so, CMD-shift-minus only works in the browser, not in the timeline. There are, however, other keyboard commands for clip view in the timeline. ctrl-cmd 1-6. But nothing to affect clip height, unfortunately.

You can shrink clips of a certain role in the timeline. Open up the timeline index and click on roles. There's a little up-arrow button. Select that and any clips matching that role outside of the primary storyline will be shrunk down to the minimum clip height.

DOH! Only in the browser. Thanks, I thought I was going insane. I wish the minimize roles feature would extend to secondary story lines as well

Yeah, doesn't work in the timeline. It should though, so please send feedback to Apple requesting this. :-)
