FCPX refuses to export audio

Has anyone had issues with FCPX not exporting music? I have interview footage with audio attached, and then a music bed underneath attached to that storyline. Every time I export, the interview audio comes through but the music doesn't. Music currently exists as a compound clip and the raw audio is WAV.

Might you be exporting a master file using roles?

Look at the export dialog and make sure your are exporting roles as Quicktime Movie.

Weird.

Try a quick test and use another Share destination. Apple Devices 720 for example. Are the results the same?

Apple Devices 720 was successful, but I have no idea how to actually view the video once it is exported? Where does FCPX put that file?

Okay I just viewed the "Apple Devices 720" export. Still no music.

Okay, so apparently if I recreate the audio compound clip it will export the music. But now I have a different problem, which I started another thread about... geez...

For what it is worth, I've been using FCPX since day 1, almost 3 years ago, and never had that problem. Maybe you had some kind of corrupted music file.

Have you tried breaking apart (Shift+Command-G) the compound to see whether that has any effect? You could make just a short selection with the range tool to test.

There is some limit to the size of a picture you can post here. Not sure what that limit is. But yes, somewhat annoying at times.

So, you're not hearing music at all, not just that it could be too low?

How about a screen shot of the Settings window of your Share window when exporting? Are Roles set to anything unusual?

Post hack, it might be toggled off -that was how our server was compromised

To be more accurate, a GIF uploaded had hidden PHP

See if your WAV file has a sample rate other than 48 or 44.1 kHz, or some other weird properties. Try taking the wav and exporting it from Compressor, iTunes, or Quicktime, and use 48 kHz, 16-bit. Maybe even export to AIFF, but WAV should still work. Re-import and see if the new music clip works with exporting. Also, try a completely different music track from some other source to eliminate the possibility that it's your setup, rather than the file that's causing problems.

Update: It seems the problem was with the compound clip, and possibly the root audio. I re-encoded in Adobe Media Encoder and then recreated the compound clip.

Thanks for the help!
