Importing media--camera missing (and media) was created by Wondering

I've successfully imported many times from a Canon Vixia HGF10 onto an external Lacie drive but this time after finishing and disconnecting the camera the media disappears and I get an error message in fcpx that the "Camera is missing". When I go to the event folder on the desktop however I can play the media via QT. What's going on? Thanks!

What version are you using? How is ths event folder on the desktop?

Sorry, not actually the desktop. I meant when I navigate with the finder to the external Lacie drive I see the event and media and can play with QT.

Also, it's version 10.0.9 not 10.1

That usually means the media wasn't processed properly when it was imported. Try relinking the media. If you haven't started editing yet, you might need to reimport.
