Auto Pan left and right channels

Hey Guys,

I have multiple clips where the audio levels on the left and right channel are unequal - i.e. the right channel is generally lower than the left by 2-5 db's. I know I can manually pan the channels to match the levels, is there an automated way of equalising the left and right channel? A filter perhaps?

EDIT: I have tried using the pan setting "Dialogue" Which actually works fairly well, yet if I have compressor on the same clip, the compressor limiter gets ignored and the audio levels peak too high....
