Adding circle and text into clips

Hi, I am sorry if this has been addressed already, and I have looked at the help features of many websites...I am looking to add a circle around an object and then text next to it on multiple clips of a project. They all say to click on the 'A' beneath the viewer and there is no A below my viewer. I have attached a picture of what I see...any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using the trial version, but will probably purchase, but the trial is supposed to be the full features..

The A below the viewer was in classic FCP, not in FCP X

If you want to add a circle around part of your image in FCP X just click on the Generators button and add the Shape generator above your image. Then select the generator and in the Inspector > Generator tab un-check "Fill", as you can see in the screenshot:



To place a text next to the circle just press the Title button (T) next to the Generators button and choose a title template to work with.

Can you tell me how to do this on FCP 5, a version with the 'A' at the bottom? I know, I'm outdated. I'll update after my current project.
