X-Title Importer – some questions ... was created by Andreas Kiel
I've a new version nearly ready to release with some new features.
One is is that now fcpxml is accepted to extract markers to convert them to subtitles directly (you can select the type of markers). The duration and collision is calculated the same way as with my TitleExchange for FCP XMLs.
The other is that drag'n drop of files is supported now.
And here comes the question for the few ones who work with subtitles.
In theory the app can do batch conversion. But this doesn't make sense as long as the app doesn't know which language a source file is. None of the supported formats do have a language setting inside the file. A language guess like Google will be beyond my skills.
So my idea is that as long the source files have some (language) description at the end of the file name this can be used as a role.
For example
myFilename_myLanguage.xxx
or
myFilename-myLanguage.xxx
Any comments or ideas are really appreciated.

P.S. Using "extra long" default duration for markers will allow to have for example a visible display of chapter names. The time collision handling of XTI will keep the subtitles in legal timing.
