Beginner Question - Audio Enhancements was created by SFA2013
I set up FCPX to fix audio problem on import. When I look at a clip in the inspector, I can see the changes that I would expect, loudness increased, background noise removed, hum removed etc. However, I usually only see a blue dot by one of these changes.
What I don't understand is if there is only a blue square in the Loudness bar for example, is that the only enhancement that is actually applied? Put another way, do there have to be blue squares in Loudness, Background Noise Removal and Hum Removal for the enhancements to apply?

Each needs a blue square. When you analyze for audio problems the appropriate blue dots is activated. If the analysis doesn't need it, it's not turned on. You can turn it on an adjust it at any time. Can't say I think any of them work well, except for hum removal, if you have electrical interference of a specific frequency.

I agree with Tom. The automatic enhancement features are good enough for easy corrections but they don't work well for really problematic audio. For advanced corrections you need to go into the Audio effects tab.
