Secondary Storyline

I have a question about the Secondary Storyline. Why does it need to render every time I make an edit, even the smallest command such as moving a clip will require the entire secondary storyline to render.
Thanks,
Erik Swain

What are the project properties? What are the clip properties? Switch off background rendering.

The files are RED 5k into a 1080P Project, I have the same problem when the project is in 5k too. I do have a filter on the clips but I am only moving the clips and not trimming them and when I do trim the clip - the whole timeline still renders. When I turn off rendering, my playback will be jumpy on the clips that are not rendered.

Not much you can do if the material needs to be rendered. If you've having trouble with playback you might using proxy files.

Thats why I am confused because nothing does need to be rendered, I am just moving a clip. I have tried both original and proxy files.
