Re-cutting already cut video?

Re-cutting already cut video? was created by Seany
I've to re-cut a video from the exported cut that has crossfades etc baked into it already. I'm having a problem with the crossfades, is there a way of deleting some video sections that I don't want without deleting the crossfade between them, I don't have recourse to the original footage.
Cheers.

If the dissolve is baked-in, that IS the picture, so aside from not using that section, you can't really get rid of it. If, say, you want to make both incoming and outgoing shots shorter, you can chop out the dissolve between them, and then make your own dissolve. You can do usually do it if it's ok to make some shots shorter.
There are rare instances where a dissolve using a section with a baked-in dissolve might look ok, but most times, it will be a mess.
