FCPX 10.1.1 not connecting to Transcoded (Optimized) Media

Is anyone else experiencing FCPX 10.1.1 not connecting to optimized media after transcode? Choosing to leave AVC files in place on hard drive and selecting optimized media results in the transcoded media importing into the library/event under High Quality media, but FCPX does not connect to the transcoded media. Am I missing something?
FCPX cannot relink to media in the library/event so the only solution I have found is to open the Library package and move or copy the "high quality" media to the location outside the library I prefer for the media.

FCP uses optimized media even if reveal in Finder doesn't point to it.
