'justify All' text nightmare - please help! was created by timp_brown
Does anyone know how to justify text properly in FCPX. I've been searching all the forums and I can't find anything about this - most questions are about aligning left and right.
By justify I mean that both left and right sides of a text block are straight
I think it may have something to do with setting the size parameters of the text box - is this possible?
In the 'alignment' section of the inspector it has the 'justify all' button.
Using a Basic Title if I type or copy in a chunk of text it is just all on one really long line that goes off the screen - pressing 'justify all' on this does justify the text but the end of each line is miles off the screen.
If I press 'enter' to start new lines within the text (ie. to keep the paragraph on the screen in stead of just one long line of text) and then 'justify all' to justify the text this does not do anything because of the paragraph breaks that are now inserted.
Any ideas? I'm not sure if I've explained it well.
** Just had a quick play on FCP again before posting this and I managed to get it to do what I wanted but have no idea how and can not replicate it. Is it just glitchy? Do other people have the same problem? **

Is this 'justify all' glitch just my issue? I'm still having an absolute nightmare with it.
It works sporadically with no consistency, the text is justified on both left and right sides then I do something as simple as highlight some of the text to change the colour for example and it suddenly switches and becomes left aligned. What is going on? Anybody else ever tried to 'justify all'?

Most the build in titles are not designed to work the way you would like to use it with "justify all".
If you own Motion you can create one easily by your own.
You also can download my X-Title Importer. It installs some title templates which allows to handle text that way.

Thanks very much for your response Andreas. I had in fact just found the solution using Motion as you suggested. Thought I'd post in case anyone else has this problem. Though from the lack of discussion it seems to not be a common problem.
This article was useful in finding the solution, about half way down entitled 'Text Tabs'

The two kinds of text area in title templates are Type and Paragraph. Most of them are set as 'Type' whereby if you keep typing, the text just keeps going off the end of the screen. To have a paragraph with a defined borders you need the layout method to be 'Paragraph'. This can be defined in Motion in Layout Controls in the Text tab of the inspector. The easiest way is to just edit a basic FCPx Title, then all you need to change is this specific parameter and leave everything else as is.
