FCPX Won't Open was created by gameandgarden
I updated FCPX to 10.1.1 and ever since when I try to open it the opening square that says "Final Cut Pro X Version 10.1.1" comes up, but the main page never pops up. When I updated to 10.1.1 all of my projects were erased so I quit the app and never have been able to get back in. It will just sit there for hours. How can I get back in? I have restarted my computer (Macbook Pro). Thanks in advance for any answers!

No help but, FWIW... "Mac OS error -1712 (errAETimeout): the AppleEvent timed out" You can try trashing the Layouts folder, that often helps... Here's how:
Quit FCP X. Hold the "Option" key when clicking on the "Go" menu in the Finder and you'll see "Library" appear as a choice. Click that, then go to -> Application Support -> Final Cut Pro. In that folder is a Folder named "Layouts". Throw that Layouts folder in the trash and then try restarting X.
Can't sleep? Try this: fcpxpert.net ;-)
