Editing green screen footage on FCPX was created by DreadSun
Hi,
I have a static background i would like to impose some green screen footage of a person over.
The camera will be moving a lot, e.g. dolly shots, pans etc.
Would i have to use physical motion trackers on the green screen for the editing to look convincing or is there a way on FCPX or maybe Motion to achieve this?
My guess is i need trackers but any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
DreadSun

Motion's trackers can do this just fine. In fact in the book "Apple Pro Training Series: Motion 5", there is an exercise that does this exact task. You'd do a "Match Move" in Motion to match the live action camera's dollying around, to the static background layer, which will move/skew the background to match. Don't know any other tutorials about this online. Although it basically is this same technique here:
