About a week ago the UK broadcasters adopted/accepted the EBU-TT subtitle format.
I have some experience with the preliminary versions of the specs.
As I am not a broadcaster I couldn't test my results. People who had been in the "beta" chain always stayed anonymous. So it is hard to figure out how this works in reality.
Apple is going the WebVTT and DFXP route (EBU-TT is a flavor of DFXP). The current version of XML exports from FCP X do show that.
If there is somebody out there to have a comment it would be great.
