Color Balancing/Correction - Suggestions Needed

Color Balancing/Correction - Suggestions Needed was created by ferguskim
I have video footage shot with a Canon camera and a Sony camera. The environment in which the footage was shot was darker than expected so I tried adjusting the exposure on the cameras to lighten it up. But when I imported the footage, I could definitely see noticeable differences in the lighting/color. I tried using the color match option in FCPX but that doesn't seen to work too well. Here are some frames from the footage to give you an idea of what it looks like without any adjustments. I have never had any issues of this nature so I am pretty new to this issue but I learn pretty fast and take instruction well. Any advice you all could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I would start with the footage that has the least amount of details in the blacks (the stuff from the 2nd and 3rd picture). Take take that footage and make correction changes to get the color balance correct.
Then, I would try to correct the footage from the first still picture you showed us to match exposure and color to what you did to the other footage.
This is my first suggestion because the second camera produced footage with little detailed information in the dark areas- so you'll never be able to get this camera to match the first. However, you can crush down the dark area exposure from the 1st camera to more emulate the look from the second camera.
After you have both cameras looking like the match, then you can make a compound clip and globally apply a new color correction (or color segment effect) to give the footage a color look or treatment.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm definitely going to try your steps and will hopefully correct the issue for me. Thanks again!
