Help format issues not hearing audio was created by mitch
i converted Panasonic P2 cards finally to a format Final cut would recognize. I edited, heard audio and everything was good. had issue exporting, which when i fixed by re-importing from camera archive. Now 1 of the 10 files has no audio. I see the audio levels in the timeline but i can't hear. Is there a simple solution?

What kind of software did you use to convert the P2 clips?
To what format have you converted these clips?

If you already had exporting issues, and your audio behaves strange, there's a big chance that your media files are corrupt.
From your response I think you have used one of these cheap media conversion softwares that claim that FCP X cannot recognize P2 cards (which is absolutely wrong). Most of these softwares produce weird MP4 files that can cause huge problems in any NLE.
But this can be solved. What version of FCP X are you using?

Okay, I suppose the P2 card contains MXF files, that's why you cannot import them natively in FCP X.
From what you describe the MPEG-4 files created by the software you have used may have issues. So you have two options:
1. Try converting the problematic file to ProRes in FCP X (R-click the file and choose Transcode). Then check if the audio still has problems. If it doesn't your problem is solved, but I would suggest you convert all your clips to ProRes in FCP X before trying to export the edit again.
2. If this does not solve the problem you will have to reconvert the original clip from the P2 card using the software you have, but this time do NOT convert to MPEG-4 but to a real editing codec such as ProRes. Then re-import the file and replace all instances of the new file in your edit.
If you often work with MXF media I would strongly advise you to get a professional plugin that allows working natively with MXF in FCP X without any rewrapping or transcoding: www.calibratedsoftware.com/MXFImport_Mac.asp
