Yellow Exclamation Triangle on clip name in browser & Clips, (soundtrack) shows as red -- play OK was created by dicklacara
FCPX 10.1.1
• Most of the events in my libraries show a yellow exclamation triangle.
• Within the Event, the clips also show a yellow exclamation triangle.
• The bottom half of the clip (soundtrack area) shows as red (with no waveform) instead of blue (with waveform).
• The clips play fine.
The yellow triangles/red soundtrack can be made to disappear by relinking the files ...
Then, the above "errors/warnings" suddenly reappear when you do anything to this or other events.

The first thing you should try is to refresh your FCP X preferences. You can use this free tool to do this properly:
www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/
If you are n Mavericks don't forget to shut down the computer after having refreshed the preferences.
If this doesn't help post back with some more information:
What is the format of the clips that have this issue?
Are you using native or optimized media?
Is your media stored inside the Library or externally?
Have you made any changes at all to the audio of the problematic clips?

Thanks for your quick response. I tried the preference refresh, but it didn't work.
The format of the clips is almost anything from AVCHD to 4K.
Native or optimized didn't make any difference.
Media stored inside libraries (2 10 TB Promise Pegasus RAIDS.
Most audio unchanged -- doesn't seem to make a difference.
I didn't mention that I was using a prerelease of OSX 10.9.3. Reverted to the 10.9.2 current release and it resolved the problems ... I'll do some more testing, submit bug reports and post anorexic if needed.
Thanks!

Interesting information, thank you. I am running 10.9.3 on a test bay as well and I haven't noticed this issue. If you have an official beta seed please report this problem using the feedback link at the bottom of the mail containing the link to the seed you have received. I will certainly do the same.

I have noticed strange errors like this as well..
I think it may be related to drag and drop when importing a clip... seems to happen on files where i drag them into fcpx.
to get around it, somewhat, re import the clip again into the same event, even if you already see the clip in the event...
may help..

I had a similar issue crop up. I was adding an audio clip (one of the sound effects provided in the FCPX sound effects) through the music/sound browser in FCPX as per normal. When the clip was connected under the primary storyline the waveforms area turned red - the rest of the clip stayed green. Deleted it and dragged the same clip in again and it was fine.
Haven't been able to repeat this since. All the audio I brought in before and after continues to work normally. This was the first and only time I've seen this.

Thanks for all the feedback. The problem exists in OS X 10.9.3 prerelease. Every thing works fine in OS X 10.9.2. Have reported the problems. Now I'm going to move on work on my taxes -- and wait for a new release!
Thanks again!
