Hi there,
What's the most efficient method of colour correcting a clip in the timeline whilst also displaying another clip from the timeline as reference?
Cheers

Damian,
Can you clarify your question? Not sure if you are trying to match color, or correct a clip in event, which I am learning about as I type this.

Hey Jonathan,
Basically I have a clip in the timeline that I want to use as reference to colour correct another clip, so I need to see both clips - reference clip and colour correct clip.
I tried match colour but it did a pretty bad job so I need to do it manually but I can't do viewing only one clip.

The color matching workflow is using the event viewer to display one clip while correcting another in the main viewer.
If you have a clip that looks great without any correction, just click on it in the timeline and then Shift-F to show it in the event and event viewer (open the event viewer first with Window > Show Event Viewer.
Now, if you have a clip that has been corrected that you want to use as a reference, make it a compound clip (which will make a new clip in the event) and now use that compound clip as the reference.
I almost always create a "Color Reference" event where I grab stills I like from movies, tv shows, or just still images. I also make reference clips for a particular location or scene in there also. Then I just load those up as needed. It is very useful.
I know that was quick, but I wasn't giving you all the steps hoping you can figure it out.

Not really what you want, but what I like to do is put the playhead over the reference clip and the skimmer over the clip to correct. By toggling the skimmer off and on you can switch back and forth between the two clips, their color boards, and scopes.
