FCP X does professional tape... with help...

If you want to use FCP X, but need to import/export to professional tape formats (anything that is NOT Mini-DV), download AJA's free "VTR Xchange" application. It'll take care of that analog I/O work for you.

This has been out for a good while and I am still surprised that many haven't heard about this little handy application. Also AJA has another one in the makes called AJA Control Room.

Control Room is for controlling AJA hardware and way more complex. AJA VTR Xchange and AJA TV will work with any interface with just about any tape deck.

AJA don't make no crap, that's for sure. More than I can say for some other companies.

Well we do have some problems with there KiPros
But Black Magic Design is also cool!

What problems do you have with the Ki Pros? Have you spoken to tech support?

BM tech support has pissed me off and left me high and dry with no solutions one too many times.

I felt that way with AJA before. The only company I can say that really helped out was Canon so far. Anyways back to the topic...

And Canon stood up our FCPUG twice! LOL! Every company has it's good stories and it's bad stories. I get a bit of extra help from AJA cause they sponsor our FCPUG .

So yeah, we can get to and from professional tape for free with FCP X.
