Compound Clips was created by Villalobos
Hello
I enjoy using compound clips, however, it seems as if creating a compound clip doubles the storage usage. I'm wondering about deleting a compound clip. I have tried File--Move to trash, the clip disappears from the event but doesn't show up in the trash for permanent deletion.
The space used by the compound clip still exists. I'm wondering where to find it to delete it permanently.
Thanks!
Todd

Compound clips do not double storage space. Items trashed in FCP go to the event trash and disappear when the application is closed, assuming the material is not connected by hard links and used elsewhere.

A compound is only metadata, it is not a physical clip. Thus, deleting one won't change the size of a Library/Event by very much. Creating a new one does not create new physical clips right away. If you render a compound in a timeline, then there are new render files created. Select an Event or Library and delete render files via that option in the File menu.

Thanks
My confusion stems from the fact that I did create a compound clip from a group of clips that were about 25gb in size total...after creating the compound clip my storage space went down by the same amount.
I must have something else mistaken...thanks for your input. You guys make this a great resource
