XDCam support in FCPX was created by brobu
For a while now I have been trying to export .mxf files from FCPX. I had success about a month ago by using Content Browser Exporter from SONY. The procedure was not simple, but doable, and I thought I've managed to master it fast. I got past all the tricks and snags that FCPX brought to the table and after setting up roles, and changing tracks to mono, using Content Browser Exporter to open file when sharing to certain destination through XDCam HD422 video codec, I managed to write back to XDCam an .mxf file. After a couple of weeks, I noticed that my codecs for XDCam have disappeared from the drop-down menu under Video Codecs in the Share window. I tried to re-install everything, even started fresh with a new MacBookPro, following all steps to update all codecs and plugins. All software is installed, restarted, rebooted, re-checked, re-installed in a different order, yet all XDCam codecs are missing. Was that a certain update from Apple that removed all codecs? Anybody experienced this? I don't know what to do next, since there is a silence about it in the forums.

Not trying to find another workaround; I was happy with the first one and just wondering why it disappeared? I even had people trained on the Content Browser Exporter, just for that reason.

Yes. No matter what I do or what update I install, I cannot get the bottom 5 ones back in the menu. And I had them two weeks ago!!!

Can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing? What are the project properties?

Hi brobu

I'm using Content Browser 1.1 on 10.8.5 … fcpx 10.0.9 …
I only get to see the XDcam Codecs when my project settings are compatible with the destination XDcam codec …
For example 1080 30p won't show XDcam codecs but 1080i 29.97 does, as you know you will also
need appropriate number of audio roles to mono trackss in 16bit or 24 bit depending on Xdcam codec selected.

And in the end you can open with Content Browser exporter to translate to mxf in one operation.

You are right, Francois. I changed settings for a new project and got them back in the Share menu. Weird that you cannot change settings for an existing project (or I didn't play with it enough to find out how). Thanks

XDCAM does not appear in the QuickTime library.

Hi
This is because it is possible to change some parameters (size, non specific codec) but we can't change the Frame rate of a project if it is not empty…
