Hide Effects? was created by ptrush
I just did a little search around the net and still don't know if there is a keyboard shortcut to hide effects?
Anyone??

Hide effects how? The Effects Browser? Cmd-5. But I think you mean something else.

Oh yeah, sorry~ hide effects on a clip in the storyline...

I know I could just open a browser window and do the old match frame on the original file, but I would love it if I could just turn effects off and on with a simple keystroke...

You can disable an effect by clicking the blue square next to it in the Inspector, tuning it gray, but not by a keyboard shortcut.

This reminds me - not sure I've lodged this as feedback since 10.1 shipped. I'd very much like to be able to hotkey a 'remove effects' control. Mind you, I suspect Apple's solution would be for me to own a powerful enough system that leaving effects on would have zero perceptible performance impact.

One slightly oddball way of doing this: duplicate the clip to an audition of itself, and disable effects on that audition. You can switch auditions by keystroke. However, this isn't global, and it's not much use unless you've reached picture lock. I've used it to view alternate grades with a client, however.

You bring up a great point JJSanderson~ I was basically wanting a keyboard shortcut for toggling effects. But imagine having the capability of removing effects or color correction all together by key stroke. Even better, selecting multiple clips at a time and removing either effect or CC. Brilliant!!

A lot of us have filled out the feedback form asking them to bring back the Remove Attributes function.

There is a "Color Board: Toggle Correction On/Off" command with no default keyboard shortcut. I've assigned it Shift-Cmd-C.

Just stating information in context. What was condescending?

I don't know a shortcut either.
But what you can do is to select one clip containing the effect you want to hide, open the inspector. Then select all clips using this effect or a range of them and click the the blue square in the inspector. This affects all selected clips.
