Hi,
I was working on a project. All the imported media is saved within the library.
Suddenly I get the spinning beach ball effect and the next minute, FCPX is not showing any of my media or projects. The library file is showing 11GB, so the media is there but upon opening the library file, it does not show up. - just freezes on a grey'd screen when starting up. See below.
Reinstalled FCPX to no avail.
How ideas?

God I hate PhotoBucket. Does that say restoring window layout? Try trashing your preferences and your window layouts.

What a bizarre problem and rather worrying too.
My solution was:
On the original library (corrupted library so it seems) I clicked on 'show packages' and saved all the original media. Copied the timeline containing the original file names.
Created a new library & project
Pasted timeline.
Then re-imported all the media which automatically re-linked.

This must be a somewhat common problem. It's on the front page of Apple's FCP support page:

Slightly out of date. No mavericks and screen shot is for 10.0.8.
