Channel 1 and 2 audio was created by Villalobos
Hello
I have searched a bit and can't seem to find the answer to this specific question. When working with clips shot from a camera, you have a camera mic (channel 2) and a lav mic for interviews (channel 1).
I can't seem to figure out how to separate the 2 so i can eliminate channel 2 and just hear the lav mic without the ambient channel 2. I've tried "detach audio", "expand audio clips" and both still combine the two channels into 1 channel, even as it separates it from the video.
Anyone know what I'm missing?
Thanks!

Select the clip, goto audio in the inspector and expand channel configuration.

Make sure the channel configuration is set to dual mono and then use the expand audio components function.

Thanks for the quick response. When I do this there is definitely a "Channel Configuration" section, but nothing that says "expand". There are choices to go from stereo to dual mono and reverse stereo, but those are grayed out
Thanks again

Sorry. Not very clear
There is a triangle next to the track name. Click it. You should then be able to uncheck the guide audio

Got it.....thanks.
Although I did discover you can not do this from a compound clip.
Thanks again!

That being said, I do like to work from compound clips. Is there another way to accomplish this??

depending on your workflow, I might do something like that in the event itself.

With your clip in a Timeline, right-click, "Expand Audio Components".
Then, with the main video part selected, configure as mentioned previously in the Inspector.
As you change configs in the Inspector, you'll have the individual channels to edit with in the Timeline.
You can also open a clip into its own Timeline from the Browser and work the same way.
