How do I edit two different frame sizes in one sequence for example :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Canon 7D
1920x1080
29.97fps
compression H.264
Pixel- Square
Canon Vixia HMf40
shot at 1440x1080
29.97 fps
Pixel Aspect- HD(1440-1080)
Compression Apple intermediate codec
and the frame rate on the camera says Pf24 but when in final cut pro 7 says 29.97 ?

What application are you using. This is the FCPX forum.
PF24 is actually recorded at 29.97. It's a complete balls up as a format.
The media will work fine in a 1920x10180 29.97 project.

The Vixia looks like it shoots 24p over 60i, meaning that it shoots 24p but adds extra frames (pulldown) to get to 60i. So it's 60i which is really 29.97 fps (there are 2 interlaced fields per frame which is why it's referred to as 60i).
You shot the 7D at 29.97 fps 1080p, so your project should be set to 29.97 1080p for best results. Your Vixia footage will cut in just fine because FCPX will stretch it to 1920x1080. It just shoots a different pixel aspect ratio, but it's intended to be 16x9.
The only thing is that 24p footage will look slightly different than 30p footage in motion, but you should be fine. Those two cameras are pretty different in the way they look, but that's always the case when you use different cameras.
