Retimed clips in Drop Zone

I am trying to put a retimed clip in a drop zone but the clip in the drop zone does not play, the image stays at the first frame. Is this even possible?
Guess I should explain more. I have a 10 second clip, retime it to 20 seconds and then put it in a generator that is 20 seconds long. Only the first frame plays.

After you've retimed the clip, make it into a compound clip and put that in the drop zone. That should work.

What drop zone? What generator? You retime a clip in a project. What exactly are you doing?

Interested to know which generator you're using.
I get this issue with TrackX. When you drop a clip into the 'Insert layer' drop zone in the inspector, it always plays from the first frame of the source clip. ignoring any selections or retimes you've made. Coremelt tell me this is the way FCP deals with clips in drop zones.
What I should have said was create a compound clip, put the clip selection you want into it (retimed if you need), then put this compound in the drop zone.

CoreMelt is incorrect, at least it is now. In older versions of FCP that was true. Now drop zones will play video but it depends on what was done in thee Motion project that created the generator.

TGC---Your suggestion worked. I am using the Two Up generator. Originally I intended to use CrumplePop's Split Screen but was having problems and had to try another solution.
