Difficulty syncing one big audio clip with multiple video clips

Is there any way to do this? Can I synchronise a big audio clip with multiple video clips? My audio clip is much bigger than all the video clips together. Selecting everything and the doing the usual synchronise doesn't work for me. All my video clips get stacked and the audio clip isn't synced.

Hilariously, I had this "problem" yesterday. It turns out that I simply wasn't giving it long enough to process. While my little test scenario from a couple weeks ago worked almost instantaneously on a very short clip, yesterday when I synched a 40 minute long audio recording with 3 video clips (whose combined length, like yours was shorter than the audio clip) it took about 30 minutes to finish on my Mac Pro 2.66G Quad w/16GB of ram.

If you check the Background Tasks window you'll see it slowly chugging along and it apparently lists this under "rendering" which I thought was bizarre but hey whatever works.

So yeah, give it a bit of time. Your clips will be stacked incorrectly until it's done but if your audio quality is good across everything it should eventually finish. I ran my headphone-out into my DSLR so I had clean audio on both the video's audio track and, naturally, the WAV file my Zoom H4N recorded.
