Hi All...
Anyone know a way to replace a clip in one go with a similar clip but keep all of the attributes (filters, color correction, attached clips, audio channels) of the clip being replaced? There doesn't seem to be a way to do this that doesn't involve copying attributes first, then doing the replace, then pasting the attributes to the replacement clip.
Another thing I've noticed is with Auditions, replacing and adding to Audition blows away any connecting clips that are attached. Any way to keep that stuff alive when adding an Audition clip?

Nope, that's about how it is done at this time. Good idea, though. Fill out the feedback page.
I am doing a "Replace and Add to Audition" with a connected clip, and my connected clip is staying connected.

great feature in after effects where if u drag a clip to a layer holding down the option key, it replaces the underlying source while maintaining its properties

In Motion you just drag a new clip into the original clip layer to replace it and all the customized properties, filters etc.. are preserved. It would indeed be great if we could do the same thing in FCPX. Feedback page.
