Foot Pedals with FCPX

Any one using three (or more) foot pedals to trigger keys on FCPX - e.g. JKL? I have lots of interviews that need to be transcribed and since it's for a local charity there is no budget for outside transcription services.

It's a major PITA having to hit JKL to start/stop/rewind and type on the keyboard of another computer. It would seem like foot pedals would make it easier. And I know this is just the start, I'm going to need it more in the future.

So, any suggestions of known models that work?

I'd also use an actual transcription app, too, with foot pedals.

I use dictation on my iPhone to transcribe my interviews. Just play it back through the speakers, dictate to the notepad on my iPhone, use iCloud to instantly copy it to notes on my computer, then I paste it in the notes section of FCPX. I'm not super fast at typing so this works really great as it gets about 90% of the dialog correct.

There is an app called F5 (F4 for Windows) with works quite nice with a pedal.
I have a small app which converts the F5 file to a standard STL .

Thanks for the replies. I started looking in to transcribing apps (as per Ben's suggestions) and I came across this:

otranscribe.com

It's free, runs in a browser and allows you to play an MP3 file and various speeds, use the Esc key to stop / start (with a tiny rewind so you know where you are) and also had short cuts for adding time stamps.

So everything is keyboard driven and really simple.

Since it's free I may as well give this a go before spending lots of cash.

Thanks again!

We use Inqscribe. Reads any quicklime file and if there's timecode on the file you can insert the timecode onto the transcript. Works a treat.
