FCPX Import issues

FCPX Import issues was created by Mr. Max
Hello. Does anyone have any insight on this issue? I've noticed that since either FCPX 10.1 or Mavericks (not sure which one) my files that I choose to import from an SD card no longer actually copy over to the FCP Library. When I examine the package contents of the FCP Library I see the alias or pointer for the file, but not the file itself. I've checked to make sure "copy files" is checked.
I've deleted preference files manually and by using "Preference Manager" Any thoughts?
Thanks so much.

When you import from any type of camera card you don't have the option to leave files in place, so FCPX defaults to "Copy Files", but you do have the option to select either the current library, or to choose a specific one. If you have alias pointers on files in the "Original Media" folder of the library in question, this would seem to indicate that you have imported files from some other location on your system, even possibly a copy of the actual SD card. You should be able to click the file and select "Reveal in Finder" to see the actual imported media file. You can do this either within FCPX in the event browser or within the finder by selecting the alias.

Thanks dgwvideo.
That is actually another issue. When I select "copy files" it will only let me select what ever the current library is. I couldn't choose another library if I wanted to. The box to choose another library is greyed out. Also, I have used the "reveal in finder" button to find where the file actually is, and sure enough it's still on the card, flash drive, or hard drive that I am importing from.
And just for clarity...This is not happening when I am importing directly from a camera. Only when importing from any other source.
Thinking about uninstalling and re-installing.
Thoughts?
