Anyone NOT having delay on playback when A/V Output is enabled?

I'm wondering what folks who have the various a/v output solutions are seeing as far a delay when starting playback.

I have a Matrox MX02 (which unfortunately doesn't have 10.1 drivers yet), but it did have a good 1/4 second delay when starting playback in 10.0.9. So I'm curious what kind of performance you guys are seeing with AJA, Blackmagic, and the HDMI output on the 2013 MacPro.

I've got a Ultrastudio 3D and it's funny because it seems to vary. Sometimes it is perfect, other times it seems to drag about 3 frames or so. If it was consistent I could figure it out... but it's not as bad as 1/4 second! Today it seems to be behaving quite well (and I'm working on drums, so it's easier to see sync points!)

How do you have it hooked up to your machine? If it's on an iMac, remember that everything is sharing the same bus, which may be the cause...

Thanks for the reply. So are you talking about sync or the latency between hitting playback (i.e spacebar) and playback actually beginning? I'm trying to figure out the later.

Ah, no I was talking about sync. Sorry I misread your post!

I have zero delay when it comes to playing back. It's rock solid.

No delay? So you mean the playback starts just as fast with A/V out enabled as it does with it disabled?

Well hell, now I'm investigating, having not really looked much into it. I suppose it is slightly slower... so cast my curiosity with yours - is it faster via a direct HDMI via a MacPro (although that wouldn't be via A/V output, would it?)

Guess I've never noticed it because of the time it takes me to look over to that monitor, but you are right, it is not as fast as with A/V output disabled.
