Edit the title should say '10.9.2 update'
I can't see anything here about this update yet?!
I'd be keen to hear others experiences, especially those who had lag in FCP and long pauses in Mavericks recently.

I downloaded the fix and now my FCPX doesn't lag anymore whilst loading. I had it under control with switching off the internet whilst FCPX was loading.. I used to have. 30 sec hang (spinning beach ball) before opening.. Now with the internet still connected and the Mavericks 10.9.2 in place it opens immediately.. Apparently they fixed more than explained in their write up...
Update: my initial experience after the update 10.9.3 was installed seems to be short lived... I have to conclude now that no changes to the FCPX behavior are apparent ...the spinning ball came back..

Agreed It seems a bit happier now in terms of the long pauses and hanging.
Also in the finder, the speed at which you can connect to, and browse other Macs seems back to normal.
FCPX audio playback through my Intensity Pro seemed to be messed up and gave strange echoes of sound clips from elsewhere in the library. But Blackmagic released v10 of the Desktop Video drivers a few days ago and that seems to have fixed the problem.
I still hate the fact that FCPX plays back through the OS system audio bus, why can't it feed directly to our IO devices like FCP6/7. I don't want system noise and sounds/iTunes etc feeding into my editing IO. I'm sure that's what causing the processor whine I sometimes hear. (I used to get that on early G5 towers that had 'chirping' PSU issues)

I've noticed one change with 10.9.2 that has nothing to do with FCPX. If you give the power button a quick hit to put your mac to sleep nothing happens. You must hold the button for about a second to put the mac to sleep. Hold it for about 3 seconds and you get a window asking if you want to sleep or shut down. Hold it for a bit more than 5 seconds and your machine will be powered down immediately.
Apparently this change was made for laptop users who'd sometimes put their machine to sleep in error when a stray finger hit the button.

Because this is "the" weekend here in south Louisiana, I noticed Seanus is using Mardi Gras colors (purple, green, gold). Just noticing...
Both the OS update and EFI update for my new "tube" went well, no issues so far. I have noticed FCPX launches much quickly now.
