Photos turn green when imported to Fcp. was created by Hildur
I am editing in Final cut pro 10.1.1 and when I import new photos to an event, the clips turn green, both in the browser and when I put them in the timeline. I can't see any difference between these photos and the once I have imported before. Thankful for any help to solve this!

Import from where? How? Can you give the exact specs of the media?

The photos are imported from a dropbox folder and the size is 4288 x 2848 in JPG.
I wonder if it might be my computer, it's an Mac Book Pro from 2011 with Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB.

Should work. If the display settings are correct, you might have to try an Apple store and see if there's a hardware problem.

Ok! Thanks for your help. I'll have to try the Apple store because I can't seem to solve this problem.

Try resizing one of the original photos to 50% of its size, then import it in FCPX and see if you still have the green issue.

That worked out fine! So it is the size of the photos that make them green?

It depends. Does your MBP only have the integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB card or does it also have a second discrete graphics card?

It only has the integrated HD Graphics 3000 512 MB card, which I guess is not optional.

Hi Ragnhild,
Some versions of the 2011 MPB also have a second, more powerful, graphics card that you can switch to. But apparently you have a model that only has the integrated Intel card.
I have never worked with FCPX on a MBP with only an integrated graphics card. Maybe the 512 MB Intel card just isn't powerful enough to drive your MBP screen as well as the FCPX interface while at the same time displaying these oversized stills. When the buffer of a graphics card gets completely full the card can display green or distorted images.
If you can work with the downsized photos for now that's okay. But maybe later on you might bring your computer to an Apple store to have it tested with FCPX and the original oversized stills. They will be able to tell you if the green screen problem is due to the limitations of the Intel graphics card, or if there is actually something wrong with the card.

Thank's for the info! At least now I know what might be the problem. I guess I will visit the Apple store very soon.
