Twixtor plugin for FCPX pausing on and off

I'm trying to experiment with Twixtor plugin for FCPX and I am seeing the 'twixtored' video pause every second or so even when fully rendered.

Video: 60p 1/4000 from a Canon T2i
Twixtor settings: Smart blend on, slowed down to 7%, everything else set as default.

I've tried letting FCPX create the project settings (which sets to 59.9f fps) and I've tried a new project set manually to 60 fps. I also looked frame by frame to see if there are any duplicated frames in the original video and it seemed like every frame was different.

Twixtor is a complex plugin, some versions don't run well in some versions of FCPX.

So it would be good to have some more details:

What hardware are you running?
Version of OSX, FCPX? Version of Twixtor plugin?

Has your Canon video been optimized or are you trying to play native 60p? What are your FCPX playback settings?

Twixtor is very complex And it jumps frames forth and back in frames while analyzing.
So as Ronny said the Canon material must be converted to ProRes.

I haven't tried Twixtor with FCP(X) – I always use AE for that. So I can't be a big help here.
Have you tried to export the "twixtored" movie?
