Updating Backup Copies in Ongoing Events/Projects

There's a ton of info on how to easily create backup copies of events and projects, but I'm having trouble finding a way to update a backup copy on a large, ongoing event. In other words, I created an event with a bunch of clips and then immediately made a backup copy on an external drive. Now, as more days of shooting have gone by, I have added more clips and music files to the original event. Is there a way to update the backup copy of only the changed/added media without having to copy the whole event again?

Thanks a bunch!

Carbon Copy Cloner can do appended updates, to an original backup it creates, of only changed and new files. Lots of control over it, lots of flexibility.

Hmm.. I wonder if that causes any issues in the way FCP sees those files in the backup copy? Isn't that a more general backup app? Thanks for the reply!

You can specify what specifically gets backed up. CCC is very sophisticated. I'll assume you're running FCPX 110.0.9 or earlier. Here is how I do it. CCC takes my backup drives on/off line so FCPX never gets confused. 10.1's libraries solve that issue.

I'm actually using 10.1. So, I'll have to check out CCC. Thanks for the info!
