FCPX default trans/filters etc.. was created by dkag7
Hi All,
I am going to make some tutorials but i would like to get FCPX back to its original state.
By this I mean no 3rd party or custom made filters, transitions, titles and comps.
Problem is that i have so many now I cant remember what are the originals and what I have added.
Is there any way to disable only what is not generic to FCP?
I could move them out of the movies>motion tremplates folder, but like I said, i dont remember what is what.
Maybe there is a list someplace of all the generic items?
I was thinking making a new user, but I'm not sure if this would work as far as getting back to the generic items...
Another thought was to move away the entire motion templates folder, then re-install FCPX... but then I think i would need to go through all license/serials again when I move the motion templates folder back again after making the tutorials...?
thanks
Kurt

Anything in MotionTemplates is third party. All the apps transitions and effects are built into the FCP bundle.

You may also need to contact some 3rd party commercial developers about uninstalling theirs, if you ran an installer program for it originally.
But no, there is not magic reset button for what you want to do.

I tried moving the motion templates folder but as soon as fcpx opens, the motion templates folder is re-created and 3rd party effects still get loaded in FCPX..
wasn't expecting that..

Deleting your Motion Templates folder doesn't work for FxPlug plugins, or for Motion Template plugins that are managed by a standalone application such as FxFactory.
To uninstall all FxFactory plugins: launch the FXFactory app from your applications folder and in the Actions menu you will find the uninstall option.
CoreMelt, GenArts, BorisCC, MotionVFX plugin uninstallers can be found in your Applications folder.
The most recent products from Red Giant also have an uninstaller app that you can find in the same downloaded package as the installer. Older RedG plugins have to be removed manually from this folder: MacHD/Library/Plug-ins/FxPlug/
If you have any others: contact the manufacturer, or make a list and I will tell you how to remove them.

Thanks Ronny,
However I think i will install fresh on another bootable HDD (Mavericks and fcp)
It isn't too much work to do that, plus i still need a running copy of fcp with the 3rd party stuff for regular work..

Hey Kurt,
Good thinking! A fresh install is always an excellent idea.
