First an introduction. I'm a newbie on this site who's been lurking and reading for a while in an effort to learn and develop some competence (and confidence) with FCPX. I thought it was time to join in. Editing is my hobby but that doesn't mean I don't want to get better at it. I've been impressed by the depth of knowledge and information being shared freely here and by the friendly flame-free discussions by the members. Same goes for the site itself: it's an outstanding source for FCPX related topics, tutorials and plug-ins. Kudos to the authors and site administrators.

My question: are there still any issues with stability (i.e. reliable operation) of FCPX with plug-ins? I recall with earlier versions (pre 10.1.1) there appeared to be problems that were remedied by deleting 3rd plug-ins. Is this still the case? I'd guess there may be some suspect ones out there but my interest is in products from sources like CoreMelt and Alex4D. It'll be no surprise that I don't want to create extra problems for myself.

Thanks,

Ed

Hey Ed,

Many of the former problems caused by third-party plugins were due to the fact that older plugins weren't updated when a new version of FCPX or the OS was released. With every major update of FCPX it is important to check with every plugin manufacturer if they also have updates for the plugins you use.

As far as CoreMelt plugins are concerned with 10.1.1: we use them all on most of our machines and I haven't had one single issue with these.
