Hello People,
I've been following the site for some years but never bothered to register...until now.
I had a large bunch of projects backup in the older version of fcpx. I created a disc-image and then duplicated the entire project on to that disc-image. I notice that after updating to 10.1 I can't open those backup projects the way they used to. Can somebody advice me in how to best load older project backups in 10.1?
Thanks!
Cheers, Lupaie

Hi Lupaie, and welcome.
You will have to update your older projects to the new Library structure in 10.1. Read these instructions carefully before doing this:
support.apple.com/kb/HT5958
If you have backed up your older projects inside a Sparse Disk Image, double-click he disk image to mount it and launch FCPX. It will ask you if you want to update your Events and Projects to 10.1.
If you only want to update a specific Event with its associated Projects, use Locate to locate them on your disk image.

Hi Ronny,
Thank you for this superb reaction. I canceled my previously attempt on opening an older project and am glad that I did. I think I can now open the older projects without that eerily feeling in my stomach.
Once again, thanks
Cheers,
Mario
