Sorry for the bad English, but could not help but share the result I got.
Since last week was unable to switch between optimized media and proxy and neither off background rendering.

I have been following many posts reporting errors with FCPX 10.1.1 after installing Mavericks 10.9.1.
I used Disk Warrior , I cleared the preferences (Preference Manager - Digital Rebellion), caches, and also all the recommendations in the help of the apple site, but not resolved.
The alternative I found was to create a new user account rather than to do a fresh install from scratch.

After using OnyX 2.8.2 for Mavericks, I believe my administrator account was corrected and FCPX started functioning normally.
I used all options in OnyX, but I believe the solution is below:
(Parameters > Login), leave the Administrator users and Local Users and click Restore Defaults.
(Parameters > QuickTime), Restore Defaults.

After this procedure, able to change between proxy and optimized background rendering and off normally.
I think that may be an option for some rather than create a new account.
Hope that helps.

Hey Sousa,

Thank you for posting this. I have used Onyx before and it does a good job cleaning up your system.

For anyone experiencing FCPX responsiveness issues after updating Mavericks over an older OS your suggestion is surely worth trying. And above all this Onyx is free. So here's the link to Onyx for Mavericks : www.titanium.free.fr/downloadonyx.php

Thanks Souse for the tip, I have kind of a same problem with FCP X, one is the A/V output is always check and it docent's let me uncheck and the other is in preference that I can't change time display.
I did delete FCP X and preference restart Mac and then reinstall FCP X and it all work perfect for 2 weeks but then the problem came again.

I will try your tip and let you know.
