I doubt it but is it possible to isolate the viewing section of the FCPX interface and send it to another computer monitor , this is possible in DAW's(digital audio workstations) where you can have your mix window on a different monitor to the track window. The reason I ask as it may be handy when color correcting, grading etc so as to get a better view of your corrections.

Maybe what you mean is something like a Matrox video converter I/o device.

I've used the MXO2 with FCP 7 for a long while. I use a seperate calibrated monitor to view video.

Sadly, Matrox has been very slow in releasing driver updates to make their I/o device work with FCP X.1 and OS 10.9 Mavericks.

Yes that is what I'm talking about, cheers, pity they are slow, do you know of any other devices that do it?

Check out Blackmagics offerings. I know there are others that use their stuff.

FWIW, I believe that Matrox should be releasing updates of their drivers anytime now(so they say).

I've been very happy with Matrox products, their driver support lags behind though.

I use both Blackmagic and AJA products, and have been very happy with both for many years. These are all usually for broadcast monitoring.

If you only want to use a standard computer monitor you have plugged in to your existing GPU, you can specify FCPX show the Viewer on a second monitor in either the View or Windows menus. I forget which.
