My mac crash last night. I had to turn it off. When I restarted FCPX my event was corrupted. Nothing shows up in the event browser. An older version of my project is loaded but no clips show. Titles are the only think that show up in the viewer. I checked with finder and all the maria, render files, and project for the event are there, but FCPX lost the link from my project to my media and I can't get it to work. I'm thinking I should take all the stuff out of the library with the finder and try to import it back in. I'm worried I may do down a deeper hole than the one I'm currently at by trying this.

There seems to be huge amount of problems with Mavericks and FCPX 10.1.1. I was planing to update next week when my new computer arrives with Mavericks installed. But now I am hesitant to update and just stay with FCPX 10.0.9. But certainly I am eager to try the new version. I have studied a lot how to prepare before update. But I am not sure what to do.

I am not seeing "a huge amount of problems". I am running FCP X 10.1.1 and Mavericks on a 2012 iMac. I did a clean install of Mavericks and then installed all of my other software fresh.
I have had a couple of crashes with 10.1.1. I can reproduce one of them but not any others. I have not had an unusual number of crashes with any version of FCP X except an issue with a third party plug-in that I just don't use any more (and don't miss). Since 10.0.0 I have not lost anything of significance nor have I had anything get "corrupted" except a test project or two and I'm pretty sure I know why that happened.
I use FCP X just about every day. I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with FCP X any more than with any other application. I am willing to bet that most peoples issues that get blamed on FCP X have more to do with other things and nothing to do with FCP X.
I have been using computers in video for nearly 30 years and Macs for over 20. The vast majority of problems I have seen people have in that time are either user error or hardware issues (often caused by user error). SCSI was a pain in the butt however. LOL!

I have never had any problems with all versions of FCP x. But after reading posts in Apple forum I'm a bit hesitating. Of course it is to much to say "huge amount" but I have never read so many complains on that forum. The reasons can be many and different. With 10.0.9 I have not had a single crash so I prone to believe that 10.0.9 is the most stable version ever.

Same here. I haven't found 10.1.1 any more or less stable. Crashing has been a rara occurrence for me. But this crash came with a problem I had not had before. I put 10.1.1 in the title because when searching online most of the help is for the pre-library versions of FCPX.

Found a working library under movies->final cut backups->
I lost only about 20 minutes of work. (But this was a huge headache) Thank god FCPX created automatic backups I never knew existed.

My experience with FCP X crashing has usually been with projects that are updated to newer versions after a major retooling.
The file restructuring of FCPX when 10.0.3 was released caused major trouble on a doc I was working on. Luckily I had a backup of 10.0.2 and the projects/events. That same doc I updated to 10.1.1, and now certain footage files that still play fine in 10.0.9 crash just by selecting them in the event. Even after running project repair and trashing prefs it's repeatable.
So my guess is that whatever process happens to project files when they are upgraded to a major revision of FCP X can cause crashing. Any work I have started in 10.1 has been running smooth and rock solid.

I have finished all my projects an moved them to safe place. So I think I will start with a fresh project in 10.1 and skip all updates.
